Why I started Prince Creations Apparel.

Prince Creations was created to honor my first rescued Greyhound, Prince A.K.A. LC’s Big Target. I adopted Prince from Going Home Greyhounds in Pittsburgh, PA in February 2002. Over the years he has stolen my heart. He is the most regal looking and acting Greyhound. He must have been owned by royalty in a past life.

Prince was born on October 1, 1997. His racing career ended in December 2001. He has adjusted well to his retirement. He fit right in at my home with my four cats and at my dog daycare business. During a routine physical, an irregularity in his heart was detected. In August 2002, Prince was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy. Dilated cardiomyopathy is a disease that causes the heart muscle to enlarge and function improperly. The cause is unknown and there is no cure. Prince is currently on daily medication and receives a yearly EKG.

To help lift Prince's spirits, I adopted my second Greyhound in September 2002. His name is Toby, A.K.A. KB's Jet Dancer. Toby is totally different than Prince in every way. But they like each other, I think. Since being diagnosed with his heart problem, Prince's health has stabilized. I'm not sure if it's due to his medication and healthy lifestyle or to his new little brother. Either way, I cherish everyday I spend with him. He is truly an amazing Greyhound. I am thankful that he found me because my life is much better because of him. I'm sure there are many of you who can relate to that statement.

A portion of Prince Creations’ profits are donated to Going Home Greyhounds to help in their mission of rescuing and caring for retired ex-racing Greyhounds. For more information on Going Home Greyhounds check out their website: http://www.goinghomegreyhounds.org.
